CEC has developed a similar modelling tool for anaerobic digestion facilities. The Anaerobic Digestion Outline Modelling Assessment Tool (ADOMAT) has been developed over a number of years to integrate CEC’s knowledge of feedstocks and their biogas potential with the technical aspects of anaerobic digestion and conversion to electricity and heat. The model also allows for integrated financial and performance measurement.
Part of the overall diversion strategies to meet Zero Waste will be dependent on the creation of value from the diversion of biodegradable waste from landfill. ADOMAT is capable of modelling the fixed capital and ongoing gross and net operational costs of anaerobic digestion based on a specific feedstock.
ADOMAT provides an assessment of biogas production potential, conversion to heat and power, gross and net yields (after parasitic needs) of electricity and heat, digestate production, revenue and costs profiles.
The outputs from the ADOMAT tool allow for this type of analysis to be undertaken and develop a comprehensive understanding of gross and net cost.
