Overview
Eventful Scotland was formed in November 2001 to provide a
platform for increased communication within the industry, through
a structured approach to Waste Management events, focusing on the
issues that face the Scottish market.
Renamed in 2008, the Scottish Waste and Resources (SWR) Steering Group is a partnership between the Caledonian Environment Centre (CEC),
the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), Community Recycling Network Scotland (CRNS), Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB), Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC), Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Environment
Protection Agency (SEPA), Scottish
Environmental Services Association (SESA) and The Scottish Government.
The objectives of the group is to co-ordinate events
which facilitate the needs of professionals within waste management
in Scotland, and forging links with Local Authorities, Private Sector
organisations, Scottish NGO’s, Institutes, Trade Associations
and Central Government departments.
The aim of the project is to organise a major annual
event, the Scottish Waste and Resources Conference (SWaRC), which facilitates the needs of professionals within waste management
in Scotland, concentrating on the issues that are important in today’s
market.
The two day event includes a conference and indoor
exhibition dedicated to informing delegates of the key issues facing the waste and recycling
industry in Scotland. The event incorporates the prestigious Scottish
Waste Industry Dinner and Awards Ceremony which recognises outstanding
achievements in the waste and resources sector in Scotland.
The Scottish Waste and Resources Conference is managed by IWM Business Services on behalf of the SWR Steering Group.
