Welcome to the School of Engineering and Built EnvironmentThe School of Engineering and Built Environment offers a comprehensive suite of programmes spanning Civil, Mechanical, Electronic and Environmental disciplines to Integrated Product Design and Software & Computer Systems Engineering including Digital Security. We also have industry leading courses in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying and Property Management. In some of our Computing Courses we combine traditional engineering skills with innovative and creative design skills to produce 3D capable software, games as well as functional yet stylish products. We are especially proud of our industry links and we are fortunate to welcome a large number of part-time students each year to our courses who bring a great deal of practical experience to our classes.

As a modern university we deliver innovative and exciting full and part-time academic programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our well equipped facilities and high quality teaching staff ensure that students receive a stimulating practical and theoretical learning experience that is world class.
Our academic programmes are underpinned by our research which especially in the Built Environment is rated by the UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008) as ‘world leading’ and internationally excellent’.
Our academic staff work closely with industry delivering a range of specialist consultancy and commercial research, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training. The School also delivers professional bespoke training through our company ‘Academies’.
