The group specialises in the discipline areas of electrical and electronic engineering including the fields of power generation, transmission, distribution and utilisation. It is also concerned with energy conversion and the design of systems based upon electric motors and electronic drive technologies, operations and maintenance of power generation and electromechanical systems. The design, implementation, operation and maintenance of electronic engineering systems required by modern industry such as analogue electronics and telecommunications are also covered by the activities of the group.
