Second Life Project

CU There Workshops
Starting October 5 the GCU is once again organising a weekly evening class or workshop to allow people who are interested or just curious to get to know Second Life, to learn the basics of navigation, communication, Avatar modification et cetera. This year we will also cover the basics of downloading, installing and maintaining Open Simulator, where content creation is the same as in Second Life. It is not an organised, task orientated scholary session but a self paced opportunity to learn as you go along, finding your feet and interest, supported by other users and the CU There team, in a relaxed atmosphere. You can discover what element in this Virtual Environment interests you most like Building, Scripting, Animation etc and get assistance in developing skills in that area. See Elements for a brief description of the main aspects of Second Life (and Open Simulator)
These workshops are taking place every Monday from 18.00 till 20.00 (or 21.00) and are being held in Games Lab M613 (George Moore building, 6th floor) which allows for 19 participants. Full is full. These workshops are free and independent of skill and experience and are open to students and staff and, depending on demand, the general Glaswegian population.
