Partnership
Glasgow Caledonian University through Caledonian Business School has been in partnership with East Asia School of Business (EASB), Institute of Management, Singapore, since 2004. This partnership allows students from countries such as China, India, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia the flexibility of studying in Singapore while being awarded a Glasgow Caledonian University degree. Students with EASB Advanced Diplomas in Business's Management are able to complete the following Glasgow Caledonian University degrees:
- BA Business Information Management
- BA Business & Management
Teaching
All classes are taught by Associate Lecturers of Glasgow Caledonian and are able to bring a local perspective to the subjects being taught. Some of modules on these programmes have been specifically introduced for EASB students, such as Economics of International Business (BA Business & Management). This ensures that all classes are highly relevant and contextualised to the students’ requirements.
Associate Lecturers in Singapore are supported by fellow (module) team members in Glasgow, as well as online through our Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Thus communication and coordination between the teaching teams is frequent and enriches the overall student learning experience. Students can access all Glasgow Caledonian online facilities, such as Effective Learning Services.
Academic Standards
Glasgow Caledonian University is accountable for the maintenance of academic standards of the franchised programmes at EASB, in terms of the programme’s content, delivery, assessment and quality assurance arrangements and therefore the quality of the awards gained are the same as those awarded in Glasgow. Consequently, students studying at EASB, Singapore gain the advantages of a degree identical in quality and standards acquired by fellow Caledonian students in the UK.
