Before applying, Natalie met with a careers adviser to discuss her online application form. She also had a follow-up appointment where she was given a practice interview.

Natalie’s tips for students:

Be prepared. Have a practice interview with a careers adviser.

Employers may ask about extra-curricular activities as it can reveal a lot about you as a person.

Be honest in your applications and at interview. Your examples and scenarios have to be your own experiences.

Use the STAR* technique for your examples (*Situation Task Action Result).

Accept the offer of employer feedback after your interview. I used the feedback I was given at the assessment centre.
