In celebration of the 2012 London Olympics and the Olympic Torch visiting Glasgow in June 2012, P5 pupils from Camstradden Primary worked with Caledonian Club staff and students on a Uni Day project with an Olympic theme. Pupils took part in an Olympic sports drama workshop and as well as learning about being a student and about university, they also learned about the history, the design and the symbolism of the Olympic Torch and the Torch Relay. With the help of computing students, pupils in their groups took a section of the story to storyboard and turn into a stop motion animation film about The Olympic Torch. To conclude the project, pupils took part in a graduation style ceremony in school to receive their GCU Club matriculation cards and see the launch of their very own animation with their teachers and families. Thanks to Carol Brannan in finance for using her creative skills to put this animation together for us and to our drama leader, Stephanie Falls for helping with the project.
