Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
“The benefit of the KTP route is that we can access a reasonable grant award so we are getting access to skills and resources we couldn’t afford otherwise. The other benefit is the depth or resource that a large University has, as the KTP associate will be supported by a larger academic expert base."Graeme Reid , Managing Director and Owner, JMP
Transferring knowledge and expertise
Does your organisation want to innovate, expand or increase market performance?
If so, you may be interested in setting up a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Glasgow Caledonian University.
KTPs is the UK's leading knowledge transfer programme, helping businesses to access the knowledge and skills that reside within the UK knowledge base to improve their competitiveness and productivity. KTP is funded by the Technology Strategy Board with 17 other funding organisations.
GCU currently has 11 active KTP projects and is ranked second in Scotland. GCU has had 54 KTPs since 1998. This amounts to a total grant of around £6.5m.
The KTP portfolio encompasses a broad range of business sectors including energy, IT, electronics, product design, environment and construction and is aligned with the Scottish Government’s economic strategy together with that of the Technology Strategy Board (TSB).
We currently have KTPs running with companies including The Natural Fruit & Beverage Company, Silvers Marine (UK), Street League, If Only, Airpoint, VAG Valves, Shearwater Marine Services and Agrico UK.
