BEAM Research Centre seeks to explore the social, environmental and economic interdependencies of sustainable built environments in the context of global climate change and natural resource utilisation.  Focussing on the development, use and revitalisation of built assets to protect the environment and to support the sustainable social and economic development of communities, it will focus on three thematic areas of recognised strengths and world-leading impacts: Sustainable Cities & Communities, Construction Project Risk and Value Management and Building Resilience and Environmental Impact.  Building upon the initial seed funding already secured and current work to seek additional funding, the strategic plan outlines actions and outcomes in the area of healthy, safe and sustainable environments and capacity building and knowledge transfer activities.
