Witness Seminar and Open Forum Series (WS&OF)
Since May 2002 Research Collections have developed this programme of Witness Seminar
and Open Forum (WS&OF) events to provide oral history to supplement
surviving documentation housed in our archives and various
special collections.
Each event includes a
panel of ideally 8 people (key players in the given subject area)
who give their statement relating to the topic and may participate in a
brief panel
discussion. This is followed by the open forum part
of the event which opens the discussion up to the wider audience allowing
participants to record their memories, thoughts and opinions. The
event ends with a summing up session from the panel.
Through collaboration with the University's
we
are delighted to make this testament available online. Research Collections share with Spoken
Word Services one of their core aims of enhancing and transforming educational experience through the integration of digitised spoken word.
