The Magnus Magnusson Fellowship

The inaugural Magnus Magnusson Fellowship Lecture took place on 1 December 2008, given by the world-renowned financier and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Professor Muhammad Yunus.

A growing group of international figures will be invited to join the Magnus Magnusson Fellowship.  This prestigious, but relatively informal, group will, over time, become a significant resource for Scotland, meeting annually to debate issues of major concern to society.  The group will represent a wide range of backgrounds and interests as possible.

This initiative will reflect, in a most appropriate way, Magnus's huge contribution to public life.  It will not be a dry debating club.  The group will be challenged each time they meet up to come up with creative ideas to make leaders think again about a chosen topic of the moment.  The thoughts of the group will be published.

The Magnus Magnusson Fellowship Lecture each year will alternate between Glasgow, London and Reykjavik, and be given by a member of the fellowship.  These lectures will also be published.
